CRC NF Contact Cleaner (2017) — non-flammable, residue-free
A non-flammable, high-purity solvent that removes oil, grease, dirt and flux from electrical and electronic parts, then evaporates fast and leaves no residue. Non-conductive, non-corrosive and non-staining.

Clean contacts, nothing left behind
CRC 2017 strips contamination from contacts and connectors and flashes off completely — there’s no lubricant in it, so nothing is left to attract dust.
- Removes oil, grease, dirt and flux residue
- Evaporates very fast with no residue
- Non-flammable — no flash point
- Non-conductive and non-corrosive
- Non-staining
- 360° valve sprays at any angle
Connectors, switches and control gear
Connectors, plugs & jacks
Clean the contacts on connectors, plugs and jacks — including the cabling and connectors used across lighting and audio rigs.
Switches, relays & breakers
Remove contamination from relays, switches and circuit breakers.
Circuit boards
Clean PCBs and remove flux after soldering repairs.
Motors & controls
Degrease motors, sensors and control equipment.
Test equipment
Keep terminals and test gear contacts clean.
Workshop repairs
A safer, non-flammable choice for bench electronics work.
What it is — and what it isn’t
Use it for
- Contacts, connectors, terminals, plugs and jacks
- Relays, switches and circuit breakers
- PCBs and flux removal
- Motors, sensors and controls (de-energised)
Don’t use it for
- Live (energised) equipment — switch off first
- Some plastics: acrylic, ABS, polystyrene and Pebax may be damaged — test first
- Lubricating — it removes lubricant; re-lubricate moving contacts with CRC 2-26
- Poorly ventilated or confined spaces
Getting the best result
- Switch off and de-energise the equipment.
- Test on a small area of any plastic first.
- Spray liberally and let the solvent run off, carrying contamination with it. Use the extension tube for tight spots.
- Allow to evaporate fully and ventilate the area before re-energising.
- On sliding or rotating contacts, re-lubricate with CRC 2-26.

Common questions
What is CRC 2017 NF Contact Cleaner used for?
Cleaning electrical and electronic parts — contacts, connectors, plugs and jacks, relays, switches, circuit boards, motors and controls — removing oil, grease, dirt and flux without leaving residue.
Is it really non-flammable?
Yes. CRC states it has no flash point. It still needs good ventilation, and equipment must be switched off before use.
Can I use it on live equipment?
No. Always de-energise first and ventilate before switching back on.
Is it safe on plastics?
Not all. CRC warns it may harm some plastics including acrylic, ABS, polystyrene and Pebax. Test a small hidden area first.
Does it lubricate?
No — it contains no lubricant and removes existing lubricant. Re-lubricate sliding or rotating contacts with CRC 2-26 afterwards.
Always read the product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Non-flammable, but use only with good ventilation and never on live (energised) equipment. Test on plastics first. Specifications are from CRC technical data and are a guide only.
