Rosco Custom LitePad.

An edge-lit LED panel — remarkably thin, uniformly bright, and cut to almost any shape — that turns a surface into an even light source, even where there are only millimetres of depth. The way to make a ceiling, wall or stair simply glow.

What it is

A surface that becomes a source

Custom LitePad is a flat, edge-lit panel: LEDs sit around the rim and light is guided across the panel to emit as an even, diffuse glow from the whole face. That construction makes it extraordinarily thin, so it fits into build-ups where a conventional luminaire simply won’t.

Because it’s made to order, it can be cut to size and shape — rectangles, circles, complex outlines and cut-outs — to suit the architecture rather than the other way round. The result reads as a luminous surface, with no visible fixture and no hotspots.

How it works

Even light in almost no depth

Ultra-thin & uniform

Edge-lighting produces an even glow across the whole face in a very shallow build-up — no visible dots or hotspots.

Cut to shape

Made to order in custom sizes and outlines, with cut-outs, to fit ceilings, walls, shelves, stairs and joinery.

Source disappears

Built in and concealed, so the architecture reads as a glowing surface rather than a lit one.

Reference project

A luminous lobby

The lobby of 4 Times Square in Manhattan uses more than 200 Custom LitePad panels, with RoscoLED Tape, to create the backlit luminous surfaces that greet visitors — light that reads as architecture.

Its thinness and evenness are exactly why it fits where nothing else could, delivering the sourceless glow the design called for.

Specifying it

What we confirm with you

Custom LitePad is made to your detail, so it’s best resolved early with the joinery and ceiling build-up.

Size, shape & cut-outs

Panels are made to order — we confirm outlines, joins and cut-outs against the fabrication detail.

Colour temperature & output

We confirm the white point (and any colour options) and the brightness the surface needs.

Build-up & diffusion

Depth, backing and any secondary diffuser affect evenness; we match the panel to the detail.

Power, dimming & access

Driver location, dimming and future access to the concealed source are planned before the surface closes up.

Want a surface that glows?

Send us the detail — ceiling, wall, stair or joinery — and we’ll help you size the panel, confirm the build-up, and supply it in Australia.
