R119 Light Hamburg Frost — slight diffuse focus for profiles and followspots
Rosco recommends R119 for followspots and slight diffuse focus on ellipsoidals. It’s lighter than R114 Hamburg Frost and heavier than R132 Quarter Hamburg Frost.

Getting the best result
- Cut to the fixture’s colour frame size.
- Fit in the colour frame slot clear of the lamp.
- Focus the fixture, then check the edge with the frost in.
- Step to R132 (lighter) or R114 (heavier) if needed.
- Replace when heat-distorted or discoloured.

R114 Hamburg Frost is heavier, R119 is lighter than 114, and R132 Quarter Hamburg Frost is lighter again.
Is Supergel the same as Roscolux?
Rosco lists R119 under both names. Supergel filters are made on a polycarbonate base.
Will it soften a gobo?
Yes — it takes the crisp edge off. Test with your gobo and lens to get the look you want.
