Find the right Rosco scenic paint for the job
Rosco makes a coordinated family of scenic artists' paints — engineered for how colour behaves under stage light, and for the way scenic artists actually work: glazing, washing, layering and texturing. Start from what you're painting, narrow by use, and land on the system built for it. Not sure? We'll spec it with you.
Why a scenic system
Scenic paint isn't just paint that looks the part
Hardware-store paint is built for scrub resistance and interior durability. Scenic paint is built for how it reads under light — and for the way scenic artists actually work: glazing, washing, layering and texturing.
Lighting response
Pigments chosen to stay true and controlled under LED and tungsten fixtures.
True matte finish
Minimal sheen so the set doesn't throw hot spots or glare under a lighting rig.
Mixing predictability
Designed for glazing, washes and layered technique — dilute and blend with confidence.
A coordinated family
Base colour, effects, glazes and primers built to behave together, not fight each other.

Off Broadway
The workhorse matte scenic paint — consistent colour, ready to brush, roll or spray straight from the tub. The default for most sets, flats and drops.

Super Saturated
Highly concentrated pigment made to mix and dilute to precise strengths — the scenic artist's choice for custom colour, glazes and washes.

Fluorescent UV
Vivid fluorescent colours that glow under UV light — for blacklight effects, hidden-to-glow reveals and high-impact atmosphere on stage.

Metallix
True metallic scenic paint — gilded golds, brushed metals and burnished finishes that read as real metal under a lighting rig, not flat paint.

Acrylic Glazes
Clear acrylic glazes and sealers in flat or gloss — thin scenic colour into transparent glazes, or seal and set the sheen of a finished surface.

Premiere Clear
A tough, high-durability scenic clear coat in gloss, satin or flat — a hard-wearing protective topcoat for scenery and floors that take a beating.

Tough Prime
A hard-wearing primer, sealer and stage-floor paint — prep porous surfaces for scenic colour, or lay a tough matte floor coat that survives the run.
Nothing in that category yet — ask us and we'll point you the right way.
