Atmosphere Aerosol – How It Works
How it works
Watch it, then do it yourself
Atmosphere Aerosol goes on in seconds. See the effect first, then follow the simple workflow below on your next shoot.
The workflow
Spray, let it settle, shoot
It works best in a still, windless space — the calmer the air, the longer the haze hangs and the more even it looks on camera.
Still the air
Close doors and turn off fans or air-con so the haze can settle and stay put.
Shake & spray
Give the can a shake, then release a short burst into the space. A little goes a long way.
Let it settle
Wait a few seconds for the haze to spread evenly, then check it through the lens.
Shoot
Fire your frames while the haze is at its best. Backlight the scene for the strongest beams.
Top up
The haze dissipates over time — add another short burst between takes as needed.
Build gradually
It is far easier to add more than to wait for too much to clear. Dial it in slowly.

A tip from the set
Backlight is your friend
The haze shows up most when your light source is behind or to the side of the haze, pointing back toward the camera. Position your key or a hard backlight, add a short burst, and watch the beams appear. Move the light, and the whole mood of the frame changes.
Where it shines
One can, endless setups
