Gobo Sizes

You can order a custom gobo in virtually any size you need. Rosco and other gobo manufacturers offer flexibility in sizing to accommodate different lighting fixtures and projection needs. Here are the key points about custom gobo sizes:

  1. Standard sizes: While there are standard sizes like A, B, M, and E, custom sizes are available beyond these options.
  2. Custom specifications: Rosco will manufacture gobo patterns to any size specification needed for a particular luminaire.
  3. Moving lights and architectural projectors: These often require custom sizes that vary depending on the specific fixture and wheel type.
  4. Providing fixture details: When ordering a custom size, you'll need to specify the make and model of your lighting fixture so the manufacturer can create the correct size.
  5. Measurement specifications: Custom sizes are typically specified by the Outside Diameter (OD) and Inside Diameter (ID) in millimeters.
  6. No size limitations: There are generally no restrictions on minimum or maximum sizes for custom gobos, as long as they fit the intended fixture.

When ordering a custom gobo, it's important to provide accurate size information or detailed fixture specifications to ensure the gobo fits properly in your lighting instrument.

Turnaround Times

We can work with you to meet whatever deadline you require. Please see below of a rough guideline of what typical turnaround times are. We usually complete 97% of all our orders is less than times indicated: 

B&W or One-Color

Gobo will be ready to ship 2 working days ARCO. (standard coatings) + shipping time*

Two-Color

Gobo will be ready to ship within 3 working days ARCO  + shipping time*

Three-Color

Gobo will be ready to ship within 3 working days ARCO + shipping time*

Multi-Color

Gobo will be ready to ship within 4 - 5 working days ARCO + shipping time

* ARCO = After Receipt of Complete Order. Complete order means we have received (a) acceptable artwork, (b) job details including gobo size, quantity, image details, etc., (c) Received proof confirmation & payment. 

Shipping Times:
*Standard Shipping: 5-10 business days.
*Priority Shipping: 3-5 business days + $50ex

Rush options are also available for customers that need their custom glass gobo faster than the chart above reflects (additional Rush Charges may apply).

Artwork Requirements

Black & White Gobo:

  • line art, grey-scale or photographic
  • 600 dpi
  • Smooth tonal values require high resolution images.

Multi-Color Gobo:

  • 800 dpi
  • To achieve smooth color blends and fine details requires a very high resolution file.
